The Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 outlines your rights and duties in the workplace. You have the right:

To work in a safe environment.

To be given, without charge, the necessary equipment to keep you safe at work.

With these rights, there are also responsibilities. Your employer will have policies and procedures, or they will inform you about the established safe working practices.

You must follow the methods your employer instructs.
