Basic Life Support and CPR Awareness

This course provides a structured, CPD-level introduction to adult basic life support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) use, choking response and immediate emergency action for staff working in adult health and social care in England. It explains how to recognise an unresponsive adult, activate emergency help, identify abnormal breathing, deliver high-quality chest compressions, provide rescue breaths where trained and able, use an AED safely, and respond to choking and recovery situations.
