This course provides adult social care staff in England with a practical introduction to mental health, common mental health problems, signs of deterioration and ways to provide respectful, person-centred support. It explains how mental health can affect daily living, relationships, physical health, decision-making and safety, while emphasising that people are individuals and should not be defined by a diagnosis.
