Moving and Handling People in Health and Social Care – CPD Course

This awareness-level CPD course provides health and social care staff with a practical and legally grounded understanding of safer moving and handling in adult care settings in England. It explains why moving and handling must be risk assessed, how poor practice causes avoidable harm, and how person-centred planning, suitable equipment, competent staff and safe systems of work reduce risk. The course covers legislation, musculoskeletal injury, spinal mechanics, person-specific assessment, equipment, common transfers and repositioning situations, falls and floor recovery, communication, record keeping, incident reporting and professional accountability.
